Family support that actually helps
We get it because we live it.
You don’t have to figure it all out alone.
Sunny Steps offers neuroaffirming disability and NDIS support for families across Victoria – practical, personal help that meets you where you’re at.
Navigating disability, the NDIS and everyday life is a lot to carry.
We work alongside families to make sense of it all and figure out the next step.
Here’s how we can help
Play-based Medical Appointment Preparation
Delivered by our OT to help children feel safer and more prepared for medical appointments, procedures and blood tests.
Gentle, child-led, and delivered on-site at Northern Paediatric Clinic.
NDIS Help & Navigation
Are you struggling to navigate the NDIS as a parent or carer?
Whether you are:
- making an access request
- building your understanding of how it all works
- wanting more out of your plan
- coming up to a plan review, or
- disagree with a decision
We can take that next step with you.
Occupational Therapy
Offered to both children and adults, we use a strengths-based, PDA-informed approach to understand how you or your child experiences the world.
With a focus on sensory processing and fine motor skills, we help to build practical skills at a pace that feels safe – never forced.
Delivered where you feel most comfortable.
We also complete Functional Capacity Assessments to build a clear picture of daily functioning and support needs.
Goal Setting, Care Needs & Self-advocacy
Families often have to repeat the same information to every new clinician, teacher or support worker.
We write it down properly, once, so it’s ready to share.
You’ll get a clear, written summary of your child’s or your own needs, goals and strengths – something every new provider can read before your first appointment.
Provider Matching & Support Coordination
Finding the right people for your family shouldn’t feel like guesswork. You know the difference the right support worker or therapist makes – and how draining it is when the fit’s wrong.
We help you find providers who actually get kids (and adults) like yours – matched to your family’s needs, not just whoever has availability. And once they’re in place, we help hold it all together.
For self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants, and private clients.
Training & Workshops
We offer practical, lived-experience training in PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance / Pervasive Drive for Autonomy) and neurodivergence.
Originally created for parents and carers who want to understand their child and reduce daily battles, and since expanded to offer tailored solutions for schools, support workers and health professionals who want to support neurodivergent folks well – with strategies you can use straight away.
